The Niaz Initiative is a UK-based mental health charity focusing on culturally-sensitive advocacy, education and support for diverse communities. We challenge stigma by raising awareness and empowering individuals, promoting well-being and inclusion. Through compassionate outreach and partnerships, we ensure that every person’s mind is valued and every voice is heard.
The Niaz Initiative was founded to provide culturally-informed mental health support. Our work extends into community service, bridging gaps between diverse communities and promoting mental health literacy. We offer education, counselling and outreach in a variety of settings, with care that respects each person’s cultural background and experience.
We provide compassionate care and support, helping individuals and communities to grow and heal.
We encourage and motivate people to overcome stigma and take charge of their mental wellbeing.
We champion mental health rights and policies, giving a voice to those affected by mental health challenges.
We strive for excellence, guiding communities toward the highest standards of wellness and happiness.
Our vision is a world of hope and empowerment, where mental wellness is valued and supported globally.
Our mission is to passionately advocate for mental health, delivering compassionate care and fostering human connections. We work to break down barriers and ensure everyone can access the support they need to thrive.
We organize workshops, support groups and outreach programmes to raise mental health awareness in local communities. Our team partners with schools, faith groups and community centres to provide resources and reduce stigma.
We provide programmes that promote women’s mental health and leadership. This includes training, peer support networks and advocacy for gender-responsive care, helping women gain confidence and access services.
We create educational campaigns and resources in multiple languages (e.g. English, Urdu, Punjabi) to reach diverse audiences. This includes videos, articles and radio segments on mental health topics delivered in accessible terms.
We engage with policymakers and global forums to influence mental health policy. Through partnerships with organisations like UN Women UK and professional bodies, we champion culturally-sensitive and equitable mental health initiatives.
